Kira is a beautiful 12-year-old German Shepherd /Alaskan Malamute, wolf mix. She is very shy around men in particular, but normally warms up quickly to women. Kira is very dog selective and would do best as a single pet or with a large male companion dog that would not challenge her. Kira would not do well with another female dog. Due to her high energy, she would do great with an active owner that enjoys jogging, hiking, or other outdoor activities. Kira walks well on an EZ Walk harness but will pull if she becomes reactive to another dog. She is very intelligent and open to learning and picks up very quickly. She has learned a few commands such as sit, paw, and other paw.
Kira loves to be given a job, she is very quick to focus and loves to be exercised. Kira is an escape artist and will need a secure outdoor enclosure such as a six-foot fence with lean ins or an 8-foot-high fence to safely contain her. Kira would not be an indoor dog and would need to spend her time in an outdoor enclosure. Please no small pets, small dogs or small children since Kira has a strong prey drive. Last but not least once you earn Kira’s trust, she becomes quite affectionate. It is recommended that you have prior wolf dog experience if you want to adopt Kira. No cats, small dogs or small children.
