Chante’s name means ‘heart’ in the Sioux language. He does have a big heart indeed, especially with the volunteers, though he is afraid of the farm owner Mike. He tends not to seek attention from visitors in the way some of our other animals do, but warms up after he has gotten to know you. Visitors are often able to get close to Chante when he is on the platform posting for photos.
Chante was born in Spring 2011 and lives with Naiche in a spacious one acre secure enclosure with lots of room to run and play. He came to Howling Woods Farm after being found in Ohio tied to a light pole.
