Remus is a handsome, adolescent two-year-old husky/shepherd male with partial eyes and strong husky genes.
He will need husky experienced, adult owners who enjoy the outdoor lifestyle with a doggy companion. He would NOT thrive living in the background of an active, over-scheduled family, with cats, and small pets.
Remus is smart ( knows basic commands like, sit and speak) and competitive. He could easily learn dog sports, like, mushing, skijoring and bike hiking. Treadmill training is an option to burn off excess energy before leaving for work. In simple words, Remus is a high energy dog who responds well to a balance of exercise and consistent leadership. Rough play is too stimulating and leads to his mouthing.
Remus is house-trained and not known to be destructive, but he needs work. He needs owners who understand and can tend to his energy requirements. He is much more than a stunning dog with beautiful eyes. He has the potential to be an outstanding companion.
When stressed Remus will bite, and has bitten his previous owners and one of our volunteers. If you are a patient owner who understands and respects canine behavior, you will love this animal.
Kira is a beautiful 4-year-old German Shepherd / Siberian Husky mix. She is a little shy around men in particular but warms up very quickly to both men and women. Kira loves to play with other dogs and would need a companion her size, preferably male, that can withstand her version of play. Due to her high energy, she would do great with an active owner that enjoys jogging, hiking, biking, or other outdoor activities. Kira is currently learning how to walk on a leash without pulling. She has not had much training, but she is very intelligent and open to learning and picks up very quickly. She has learned a few commands such as sit, paw, and another paw.
Kira is an escape artist and will need a secure outdoor enclosure to safely contain her. She has not had much experience inside, so we are not sure how she would be as an indoor dog. Please no small pets or small dogs, Kira has a strong prey drive.
